#nsac

Now that I’ve had about a week to digest it, here goes nothing.  For those who don’t know, last weekend the Ad Team from JWU competed in the National Student Advertising Competition up in Boston.  Basically, it’s a two month competition where you get a case from a client (JCPenney this year) and you have to create an ad campaign to meet their objectives. This was my second time competing, and after a disappointing 3rd place last year, we were hungry for a victory.

The presentation team was phenomenal when we presented and our campaign took 1st place among schools like BU, Emerson, and Roger Williams.  With this victory we now get to represent District 1 in San Diego for nationals in June.

Now NSAC is something that I put a lot of time and effort into with a group of other students and a few highly dedicated professors.  Last week, only a few days before the competition, a group of us were sitting in the ad lab after another midnight picture.  Just looking around I saw such a dedicated and talented group of kids sitting with me and it was unbelievable to reflect on the work that we all put in.  Not to be forgotten, I have to say a huge thank you to our professors as well.  They go above and beyond their job description and put in the long hours with us.  Without them we could have never been even close to as good as we were.  Luckily last weekend we were able to capitalize on all of this work and “put ah fawk in it” up in Boston.

I hope San Diego is prepared for what they’ll see in June.  Let’s light this candle…
